After appearing at London’s famed Soho bookstore The Society Club this summer, Montreal’s JF Robitaille has been invited for a return reading and performance on September 21 for the store’s annual celebration of Leonard Cohen’s birthday. Robitaille has often been compared to Leonard but as Der Speigel Magazine in Germany once pointed out “…we see that this young bard has been compared to Mr. Cohen…but his songs and lyrics are so original that no comparisons are necessary!”
From London he will travel to Italy to play a dozen or so club dates from September 23 to October 8th. For a complete list of shows, visit www.jfrobitaille.com
Meanwhile in Montreal the video for his single “Marina” has just been added to heavy rotation on MusiquePlus and Max. The song is from his new album “Palace Blues” which is accompanied by a book of lyrics and poetry entitled “Minor Dedications”.
Upcoming shows in Quebec upon his return from Europe will be announced soon!
