“The Photograph”, the new single from JF Robitaille and Lail Arad to be released digitally worldwide on June 15th 2018!

During a co-headline tour of Italy in 2016, acclaimed singer-songwriters JF Robitaille (Canada) and Lail Arad (UK) found their duets increasingly in demand. Recording together was the next logical step. A snowy winter of songwriting in Montreal was followed by a month-long residency at the legendary Society Club in London.

The pair tested out their new material over five sold-out nights before hitting the studio with Mercury Music prize winning producer Mike Lindsay (Tunng, Laura Marling). The success of their debut single “We Got It Coming” opened new doors and in Autumn 2017 they embarked on a 42-date tour across 8 countries, from Italy to India, culminating in a sold-out London show and live radio sessions for Loose Ends (BBC Radio 4), Robert Elms (BBC London) and John Kennedy (Radio X).

Join us and IFOA: International Festival of Authors for the launch of LANCES ALL ALIKE, new poetry by Suzanne Zelazo.

In LANCES ALL ALIKE, Zelazo imagines what a friendship between Mina Loy and Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven – two modernist poets and artists – may have looked like had their work not been suppressed and misattributed to their male peers.

LANCES ALL ALIKE amplifies and celebrates women’s voices, exploring the ways in which the insidiousness of a masculinist cultural climate diminishes the opportunities for women writers to work with, and for, one another.

To celebrate, we’re throwing a modernist salon, perhaps like one that Mina and Elsa would have frequented, complete with readings, collaging, and Exquisite Corpse. Free and all are welcome. Doors at 7.

Suzanne Zelazo is a poet, editor, and educator. She has a PhD in English with a speciality in modernist poetry. Suzanne is the author of the poetry collection PARLANCE (Coach House) and is the co-editor of BODY SWEATS: THE UNCENSORED WRITINGS OF BARONESS ELSA VON FREYTAG-LORINGHOVEN (MIT Press) as well as CRYSTAL FLOWERS: POEMS AND A LIBRETTO by Florine Stettheimer (BookThug).
