Toronto’s Papermaps are releasing their new single “I’ve Closed a Door”(Detour Mix) this week from their album “Darker Lights”. Critics have made comparisons to acts as varied as Sloan, Television, and the Posies.

Dean Marino the band’s creative force (vocalist, guitarist, songwriter) has pushed his effected guitar to the fore on this track and focused on dynamics and sonic texture with some backwards tape loops thrown in! The song has been re-edited and remixed from the original album version. It was recorded at the band’s Toronto studio Echo Valley, with Marino producing and engineering the sessions.
